Introduction

  • The NanoPi R1S(as "R1S")is an open source loT ARM board designed and developed by FriendlyElec. It has two models, one based on Allwinner 64-bit Quad-core A53 SoC H5 and the other based on Allwinner Quad-core A7 SoC H3. Both models have 512M DDR3 RAM, two Gbps Ethernet ports, an onboard 2.4G Wi-Fi module and etc. Both boot from a TF card. Both models' USB can be extended to connect a 4G module or works with a USB camera.
  • FriendlyElec ported an OpenWrt system for the NanoPi R1S and provides a Build System for compilation and customization.
    By applying some simple configurations it will work as a router. Users can easily put add-on features to it and use it in WAN-dailing applications, game acceleration, personal NAS applications, remote control, smart home gate ways, DIY projects and etc.
  • Besides FriendlyWRT the NanoPi R1S works with Ubuntu Core and Armbian as well.
  • The NanoPi R1S(as "R1S")is an open-source IoT ARM board designed and developed by FriendlyElec for hobbyists, makers, and developers.
  • The NanoPi R1S has two Gbps Ethernet ports, an onboard 2.4G Wi-Fi module. FriendlyElec ported OpenWrt for the NanoPi R1S. By applying some simple configurations it will work as a router.
  • ※Note: H3 and H5 are pin-to-pin compatible therefore both R1S models have the same circuit design.

 

Hardware Spec

  • The NanoPi R1S has two Gbps Ethernet ports: one directly extended from the SoC and the other converted from a USB2.0.
  • For the R1S-H3 model, the direct Gbps Ethernet has a tx rate of 672Mbps and a RX rate of 930Mbps. The converted Gbps Ethernet has a TX rate of 320Mbps and a RX rate of 334Mbps.The WiFi has a TX rate of 84Mbps and a RX rate of 76.6Mpbs.
  • For the R1S-H5 model, the direct Gbps Ethernet has a TX rate of 851Mbps and a RX rate of 943Mbps. The converted Gbps Ethernet has a TX rate of 327Mbps and a RX rate of 340Mbps.The WiFi has a TX rate of 86.6Mbps and a RX rate of 78.4Mpbs.
