The SSL-20L/N is a close range, solid-state line laser sensor that is small and inexpensive, and is suitable for robotics applications along walls.
SSL-20L/N consists of a zigzag laser and a camera. The laser sends out a zigzag line of laser light at a fixed angle, which shines on the object to be measured and is captured by the camera. According to the fixed structure of the laser and the camera, combined with the principle of triangulation, the distance of the object to be measured can be calculated. Based on the parameters of the camera, the angle of the object in the radar coordinate system is known. As a result, a complete point cloud of the measured object in the radar coordinate system is obtained.
